Friday Digital Roundup

The Friday Digital Roundup is a witty take on the weird world of the internet. With fun stories from around the globe, it’s the only email newsletter you’ll actually read and enjoy!

We do love writing it, but clearly not as much as people like receiving it - just look at the response we got when a technical hitch meant it wasn’t sent out on time!

Coffee and the FDR is how I start my Friday.
Do not engage until I have devoured both

Meschi Consultants @MeschiConsult

When it comes to the end of the week, there is no better way to start a Friday than with a run around the internet with Todd and Jo in the FDR. Just don't let them know I do it from the loo!

Boosting Posts on Facebook Might Not be the Best Strategy

Boosting Posts on Facebook Might Not be the Best Strategy

You don’t see what goes on behind the screen.

Behind the Instagram filter, outside the edges of a video on YouTube, or behind the dashboard of a Facebook ad – you have no idea how it was created or what it took to get it to your timeline.

This is good news for you because with your marketing, you can make yourself look incredibly professional and bigger then you actually are with a small Facebook advertising budget.

Winning with Facebook Ads…

How many times have you been to Amazon, and you’ve looked at something and it’s followed you around the internet. That product has found you on Facebook and you’ve thought “Wow. They’ve got their shit together.”.

“I’ve just looked at a pair of shoes online and now they’re on Facebook, following me around.”

You see, you have to do this – It’s so powerful! You’ve gotta build up ‘touch points’.

It’s unlikely you’ll buy something the first time you’ll see it.

You’ll research it, you’ll go off and do something else, and then you’ll need to see it again and again before you buy. That product or service has to follow you around the internet.

You should do this with your marketing.

What we do is to ONLY spend money on Facebook advertising to advertise to people who have been to our website, people who have watched our videos, or people who are on our email list.

We advertise to the people who have already checked us out.

And it’s really cost-effective to do that.

If you’re spending money on Facebook ads boosting this and that, left right and centre, then chances are you’re wasting money as you’re not building up the touch points with the same audience.

(You’re most likely adding a touch point here and a touch point there.)

Spend it on the very people who have already been to your website and keep spending it there.

Facebook Pixels

Learn how to add one onto your website. Then you can run ads to the people who have been to your website.

And then you can look as professional as Amazon, for a small budget.

You don’t know what goes on around the screen or on the dashboard of a Facebook ads account and other people don’t know what goes on inside your business either.

They might think that you’re incredibly switched on because every time they go on Facebook, you’re right there.

But you can do it for as little as fifty quid!

Worth a thought, right?
