AI is going to hugely impact how people use Google etc., but the way to get shown to AI seems to be similar to how you get found via Google. Great SEO, trust, authority, and of course an active and engaging content machine. 

Use these real quotes and quick explanations to guide your digital strategy in a world where AI-driven search is rapidly taking over. 

AI & Search Optimisation Tips 

AI isn’t coming, it’s been here a very long time
AI is already baked into search, shopping, socials. Everywhere. 

ChatGPT made it mainstream, but AI has been here for years
The tech isn’t new. Everyone’s just finally paying attention. Ignore it at your peril. 

Social media timelines are massively affected by AI
You see what the algorithm decides, not what you asked for. 

People aren’t using Google like they used to
Loads of people are asking AI for answers now, not searching and clicking. 

This is creating what’s called a zero click economy
AI gives answers straight up. Your site doesn’t even get visited. 

If you’re going to put content on your website now, put really good content on there
Don’t half-arse it. AI will see right through lazy content. 

Most marketing now is outdated
Old tactics don’t work. Weak posts don’t cut it. Update or fade away. 

Thin, weak content = completely poisonous
Shallow stuff damages your chances. You’ll get ignored or penalised. 

We’re searching with entire conversations now
Content needs to sound like real people talking. Not corporate robots. 

AI demands in-depth, highly relatable content or you won’t get found
It wants answers with substance that actually help people. 

Content Strategy and Creation 

The more quality content you create, the better
Volume matters. But only if it’s good. 

If you’ve got like 300-word blog posts… that’s not going to be of any use to AI
Short and shallow won’t cut it. 

Just putting keywords on your website… has been dead for a long time
AI wants context, not spammy keyword dumps. 

Generic blogs are definitely over
Be specific. Say something useful or say nothing. 

If you do four crap posts a month, you may as well do one really good one instead
Less but better. Always. 

Use AI to help you get to a point, but please write it yourself
Use it to get going. But your voice needs to do the talking. 

Create long, unique, non-AI content
Stand out with real insight. Don’t blend into the AI soup. 

Ask AI what the top 10 questions are in your industry, then answer those in detail
Let it guide your research, not your writing. 

Social Media and Engagement 

Followers don’t matter. Content does
Engagement wins. Not follower counts. 

90% of people that watch our TikTok content aren’t following us
So create for discovery, not your audience bubble. 

Hashtags are now dead
AI tracks behaviour now. Tags are background noise. 

Be responsive. AI cares if you respond to people
Replies build trust. Ghosting kills reach. 

If your social media is scattered… you’re going to confuse AI
Keep your message tight. AI likes patterns. 

Don’t ghost your audience
Regular posts and replies = more visibility. 

AI is looking for patterns, just like SEO
Consistency helps you rank. Don’t keep changing direction. 

Trust and Authenticity 

E-E-A-T: Experience, Expertise, Authority, and Trust still matter
This is still the gold standard for content quality. 

AI wants to see that you’ve actually been through this
Real-world experience trumps theory. 

They want to see that you’re an expert in what you do
Show proof. Be the go-to in your space. 

They’re literally stealing the ideas we’ve already got
If you’re not creating content, you don’t exist in AI’s world. 

Google reviews and whether you respond to them matters to AI
Reviews build trust. Reply to every single one. 

Practical AI Use 

Ask ChatGPT: How do I get found in AI search results?
Use it to figure out how it works. 

You still need to put content on your website
Your site is still the home of your content. Keep it fresh. 

Ask AI: What are the 25 frustrations in my industry?
Then make content that answers them all. 

Use AI as a tool, not a slot machine
It’s not luck. It’s a tool. Use it with intention. 

Post a link to your website and ask GPT what you could improve
Let AI help with the audit. But make the decisions yourself. 

Use AI to repurpose, not replace
Turn your content into more content. But keep it human. 

Use it to break the blank-page-of-doom
Stuck? Let AI get you started. Then make it yours. 

Final Advice 

Be consistent and near perfect, rather than strive for perfection and do nothing
Better to show up imperfect than vanish chasing perfect. 

Keep publishing and posting. AI needs that
Fresh stuff feeds the machine. Don’t go quiet.

You on camera = stronger signals to AI and people. 

Repurpose everything: one podcast can be 50+ content pieces
Squeeze the juice out of everything you create. 

You don’t need fancy gear, just show up with your real voice
