Friday Digital Roundup
The Friday Digital Roundup is a witty take on the weird world of the internet. With fun stories from around the globe, it’s the only email newsletter you’ll actually read and enjoy!
We do love writing it, but clearly not as much as people like receiving it - just look at the response we got when a technical hitch meant it wasn’t sent out on time!
@Spaghetti_Jo
Coffee and the FDR is how I start my Friday.
Do not engage until I have devoured both
When it comes to the end of the week, there is no better way to start a Friday than with a run around the internet with Todd and Jo in the FDR. Just don't let them know I do it from the loo!

Hello, Is It Us You’re Looking For?
If you’re reading this, there’s a chance you’re weighing up whether to get in touch to chat about working with us. Maybe someone recommended us, or maybe you’ve been quietly watching our LinkedIn for a while. (Howdy, nice to see you.)
Either way, you deserve to know a bit more before you book a call. So, here’s who we do our best work for, what working with us actually involves, and who we’re honestly not right for. Because it’s so much easier to work this out sooner rather than later.
Hello, Is It Us You’re Looking For?
The kind of business we work best with
Our clients tend to be established, owner-managed businesses with a proper employed team. You’ve built something real, with experience, happy customers, and a reputation you earned the hard way. You don’t need to be a big company, but there’s a functioning business there and real ambition behind it.
What you probably don’t have is a large marketing department. You might have someone who looks after the socials, or a digital marketing assistant juggling it alongside three other jobs. That doesn’t rule you out at all. It’s usually exactly the point where proper marketing support makes the biggest difference.
It’s also much easier for everyone if we speak to the person who makes the decisions, whether that’s the owner, the MD, or a senior leader who holds the marketing budget. It keeps things moving, and nobody has to pitch our ideas upstairs on our behalf.
When word of mouth needs a hand
Most of the businesses we work with grew on referrals and reputation. That’s brilliant, and it still matters enormously (we’ve even written about how to get more of them). But you can’t switch word of mouth on when you need more work, and it has a habit of being unreliable and unscalable. If you’ve hit that point, you’re in good company.
What working with us actually takes from you
Not much, honestly. We know you haven’t got the time or headspace to become a content marketing expert, and we don’t want or need you to.
Once a quarter, we jump on a 45-minute Zoom call with you. We record the session and ask the questions that get the good stuff out of your head: the stories, the opinions, and the things you explain to customers every day without realising how useful they are. That goes into a brief, and a real human on our team writes your expertise content from it. Everything we write for you is 100% original and written by actual human people, which matters more than ever now the internet’s drowning in boring AI-generated slop.
You stay in control. If you want to see things before they go out, you sign them off.
The clients we love working with
We do our best work with people who are confident enough to trust us. You’re brilliant at what you do, and you know your subject inside out, but you’re happy to let us crack on with the marketing. You still get the final say. You just don’t have to write it yourself.
We get on best with busy people who are organised enough to turn up to meetings and have a sense of humour. Marketing matters, but it doesn’t have to be miserable, and a few laughs on a quarterly call make for much better content.
So, which industries do you work with?
Honestly? The type of business matters far more to us than the sector. You’ll find us working with professional services, engineering and manufacturing firms, construction and trades, tech and specialist B2B companies, and consumer brands in homes, gardens, and food. And we’re open to anything else that fits the bill so long as we think we can help, and we’ll tell you if we can’t.
We’re based in Warwickshire, so many of our clients are around the Midlands and surrounding counties. We’ll happily go further afield if there’s a good reason like we’re filming video content.
Who we’re probably not right for
Honesty is Everything is the first of our five values, so here goes. We’re probably not your people if you’re:
- A sole trader without a team. (Unless you’re after training or consultancy.)
- A very new business or startup that’s still finding its feet.
- A big corporate where the decision-maker sits five floors up and never answers emails.
- A business with a fully fledged in-house marketing department.
- Looking for a cheap one-off job rather than ongoing support.
We’d rather tell you that now than leave you disappointed in future. Good marketing (and any decent business relationship) needs the right fit on both sides.
Not you, but sounds like someone you know?
If you’ve read this far and a particular business owner popped into your head, please send them our way. We’ll look after anyone you introduce, and we’ll be genuinely grateful as well as sending you a referral gift.
TL;DR
If you’re thinking about working with Spaghetti, here’s the honest version. We work best with established, owner-managed businesses that have a real team, an accessible decision-maker, and an ongoing marketing need, but no full marketing department. It takes 45 minutes a quarter of your time, real humans write all your content, and you stay in control.
Not you, but know someone it fits? Please send them our way.
Think we might be a fit?
Book a chat with us and we’ll tell you straight whether we can help. If you’d rather start with a fresh pair of eyes on your marketing, our consultancy is a good place to begin.
